In the dark, you taste something sweet and tart on your tongue, almost like apple but not quite: pomegranate juice, out of nowhere. A hint of something metallic accompanies it.

You fall down.

[Anything helps. Caster's trying to keep along the pathway, sword held above reach of the arms but low enough to show it, but he's valuing speed over accuracy.]

That works for a while, and the singing seems to be getting closer--

--and then a foot sneaks out and trips you, sending you directly at the oozing black mess.

Well, in that case, the legs and feet are brushing up against you and the hands are grabbing at you. Honestly, some of them are starting to go for uncomfortable places.

They're very attractive disembodied limbs.

Sticky black blood, just like the ooze you're standing in, sprays out of the limbs as you slash at them and splashes onto you.

But they do start to retreat after a moment.

Scrambling to get back on the path, very nearly tipping over again but managing to avoid it, shuddering with discomfort.]

The wind has died down a little, and the singing seems louder from up ahead now.

F-follow the sound, more slowly and carefully sticking to the trail now.]

The passageways widen into a full, echoing cavern here, with multiple tunnels leading off from the sides. An arch of stone twists across the cave high above, and perched atop it is a young girl, no more than ten or so, with white hair and a white nightgown. She's the one singing.

There are three swords stabbed through her heart, and blood drips down to the floor from her body. Drip. Drip. Drip.

She lowers her head a little, resigned. In the dim light from the sword, it's hard to see her actual face.

It works, just barely, but you slip on the arch and nearly fall. It's dangerous up here.
