who stole your heart and the key?

In the dark, you taste something sweet and tart on your tongue, almost like apple but not quite: pomegranate juice, out of nowhere. A hint of something metallic accompanies it.

You fall down.

"No, being a hero is my job. I'll get the sword, and then I'll save everyone."

It works--not as much as it would outside the heart, but he can feel himself speeding up somewhat.

"We're in Limbo!" She stirs the pot some more, still cheerful. "I'm pretty good at that party game! Challenge me sometime--just try it."

[Anything helps. Caster's trying to keep along the pathway, sword held above reach of the arms but low enough to show it, but he's valuing speed over accuracy.]

Why did it have to get so much creepier?

Well. That explains who this is.

She was planning on casting a spell to break the stone apart, but instead she just sort of. Turns, takes a long look at it, and moves to sit on a particularly comfy-looking edge.]

How could you call yourself a hero with no tools?

[Just stares at him like that is very stupid and then takes her sword off her waist, handing it to him in the narrow passage.]

"There's no limbo stick and no music. Otherwise I'd be up for it!"

But he's too entranced by having a cool sword to object fully, and he starts to push after her.

[steelmyself]

It feels a bit warm for a rock. The boy keeps pulling. "I'll have the tool I need once I get this sword out."

A distant rumbling roar of deep, pained distress echoes throughout the land. It seems to come from both above and below at the same time.

That works for a while, and the singing seems to be getting closer--

--and then a foot sneaks out and trips you, sending you directly at the oozing black mess.

I still don't believe in heroes, but you're welcome to try it.

[ And with that, she walks away. Now, a sensible person would walk towards that crack, but Rin has chosen to walk past it and keep going, to see where that takes her. It's a straight line she's going in, though, so if nothing comes of it, she can turn around just fine. ]

Really, it's nice. It's very tempting to lie down and watch him be useless. She hasn't really felt tired in a while, but feeling warmth is still comforting - so she does just that, and lies across the rock on her back, to get a look at the sky.]

Then you currently lack the authority to call yourself a hero. Must it be that sword?

[steelmyself]

"Well, I'm not a hero yet," he admits. "I need this sword to become one."

An enormous serpentine form arches high over the blasted earth, its rosy-gold scales gleaming. Both ends of it disappear over the horizon; its head and the ends of its tail are nowhere to be seen.

It's tarry and sticky, and there's some nameless sense of lust just rolling off it now that you're this close.
