In the dark, you taste something sweet and tart on your tongue, almost like apple but not quite: pomegranate juice, out of nowhere. A hint of something metallic accompanies it.

You fall down.

A black ooze begins to rise around your feet and drip from the wall. Up ahead, there are flashes of something ominously pale.

The woman hums a little. "Well, there wasn't anything else for me to cook with!"

Crack. You may proceed.

"I don't think these flames can be put out that way," she says warily.

Indeed, the flames flicker but leap back to life.

The girl shakes her head.

A stray teardrop glints off her face and lands in the flames. With a hiss, some of the fire goes out.
